Storyline:
When monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

I liked the Sons of Anarchy spin and the special effects rocked. Wasn't too hip on the same ol story line ripped off from 1998's Armageddon. I got bored with the over the top Hollywood on it.

What can I say that hasn't been said already? So here is my 2-cents.
I was left wanting more, and what I mean by that I wanted to see more robots beating on Godzilla type monsters. The story was good and the graphics where just awesome.... I felt it was worth the price of admission. I also like how Del-Torro did the story to allow for a prequal, The story of the original Jaegars....

Couldn't keep my eyes off the monsters, and the fight scenes were long, fast and ridiculously detailed... so many monsters coming out each few times... and they just got smarter... ending could of been better , maybe a climax into a possible part 2 but they did a well job, regardless

The Good: Pacific Rim is an action packed ride with an interesting concept. The robot fighting is far more cohesive and easier to follow than Transformers. The touch of Japanese culture and mech material is felt through out the movie. The art direction is beautiful and is worth an IMAX 3D ticket.
The Meh: This movie breaks no new ground. The plot is extremely predictable and echoes almost every other invasion movie that came before it.
The Bad: The acting and character development are both not worthy of having Guillermo Del Toro's name attached. Pacific Rim could have used less heavy handed "acting" and more monster/robot battles. There are also a lot of plot inconsistencies
The Verdict: A visually stimulating, intense action flick that is worth a watch, but its concept and execution would have been better off as an anime or manga.
